Treasurer's Report

E-mail Print

The end of year accounts to 31st March 2009 have been inspected and found to be correct, a copy of the accounts and the Independent Examiner’s report is attached. I would acknowledge with thanks Mr R. M. C. Harvey, who examined these accounts and for his advice.

Funding is an ongoing task and long term support from the Wessex Synod, Tudor Trust, GOSE Fund and the Children’ Fund has given a lot of stability to the work of Families Matter for a number of years. The unused part of the Wessex Synod funds, £14,825 was transferred to Hythe URC accounts on the 15th April 2009 as agreed at the management meeting on the 7th April 2009. This fund will continue to be used to support the work with the young people and we thank Wessex Synod for their support with these funds. Tudor Trust has supported us for a number of years and due to the unexpected Children’s Fund extension of funding, Tudor Trust agreed that we could suspend the drawdown of their year two and three funds for a year which was very much appreciated by the Trustees and has again enable stability to be maintained. We also returned to Dibden Allotment Charity £543.36 during April because the project these funds was allocated for was not completed. At this time Families Matter finances are in a healthy state but future funding is being looked into to cover other areas of work that Families Matter is considering.

Financial support this year has been given by:

  • Hythe United Reformed Church
  • URC Wessex Synod
  • College support with funds from the GOSE Fund
  • Tudor Trust
  • Children’s Fund
  • Dibden Allotments Charity
  • New Forest District Council
  • Mr Brian Dash – County Councillor for Hythe & Dibden

This support is much appreciated and the trustees acknowledge the commitment made and the trust placed on Families Matter to deliver the services provided to the community.

Expenses of the Trustees amounted to £56.00 which was all spent on travel costs.

Many of you will know that Cornerstone, Hythe United Reformed Church which Families Matter is part of, have an outstanding loan on the new building of just under £150,000. This new building is providing excellent facilities and Families Matter is one of the main users of the building for their work in the community and any financial help you are able to give towards this loan repayment would be very much appreciated.

P C Blasby,

Treasurer and Trustee
